A FEW DIRECTIONS WORTH EXPLORING

Where do we go next?

Explore the completed upgrades and technology tree in this public edition. Six ideas remain on the roadmap. This page links to the features and future possibilities, without plot spoilers.

Current edition: 424 indexed chapters · 246 canonical source-linked events · all 61 original records reconciled. Chapter progress and filters travel across views. Independent listening checks and family-tree research remain future work.

IMPLEMENTED · EDITION 0.5

The technology tree

Explore technologies across the six books, follow sourced dependencies, and distinguish invention, discovery, use and access. Every claim follows your chapter progress; the chapter explorer opens its evidence.

01 / FIRST

Trust the details.

The most valuable next pass makes the existing material dependable.

ON HOLD

A private listening desk

Choose an audiobook from your own computer and jump straight to an event’s timestamp. Put uncertain names, dates and chapter headings at the front of the review queue. Keep audio on the device.

First useful version: a play-at-source button and a visible “listened and checked” status, with the original machine wording retained privately.

IMPLEMENTED · EDITION 0.4

One event, all its evidence

246 canonical events replace overlapping prototype records. Nine missing milestones now have chapter and paragraph citations. Earlier assertions and disagreements remain expandable on the related event, with explicit, reported, inferred or mixed claim labels.

IMPLEMENTED · EDITION 0.4

Consistent filters everywhere

Book layers, evidence, event types and chapter progress now use one rule across the timeline, search, profiles, map, stories and favorites. Links preserve the selection; exported records exclude hidden editorial context.

02 / NEXT

Follow your curiosity.

Make the tangled chronology and viewpoints easier to understand.

IMPLEMENTED · EDITION 0.4

Reading order ↔ calendar time

Switch between book/chapter order and calendar time in the Time menu. Dated events share a linear scale; bands show day, month, year or interval precision. Undated events have a separate position, and inferred timing is marked.

“I’m at chapter…” spoiler controls

Set the last completed chapter in any of the six books. Later events, tour descriptions and hidden notes stay out of the interface and exports. Profiles and family details without chapter evidence are gated conservatively.

ON HOLD · NEXT ITERATION CANDIDATE

A family tree you can verify

Check each clone relationship against a source. Separate ancestry, renaming, backups and transfers; those connections mean different things. Let a reader open the evidence behind an edge.

First useful version: audit Bob’s earliest branches, then expand through the later books.

ON HOLD

Follow one viewpoint across books

Turn a character selection into a continuous reading trail: their events, places, relationships and long gaps. Connect the existing tours to the newly sourced records.

First useful version: one complete, source-linked character journey with chapter-by-chapter navigation.

03 / LATER

Make it a place to return to.

Build on a stable source model before adding spectacle.

ON HOLD

A map that explains travel

Distinguish a readable schematic from measured stellar positions. Add sourced routes and travel durations, with separate treatment of outside elapsed time and a traveler’s experienced time where the books support it.

First useful version: a small, checked route set with a schematic/geographic toggle and no invented coordinates.

ON HOLD

A reading notebook beside your favorites

Extend the existing favorites with personal questions, notes and chapter-level reading progress. Export and restore that notebook without requiring an account.

First useful version: optional notes on saved items, with notebook export and restore.

ON HOLD

More forgiving search

Recognize aliases, renamed characters and alternative spellings from the audio. Group results by character, event, place and chapter so readers can see why something matched.

First useful version: a reviewed alias list and highlighted matches, while preserving the current spoiler horizon.

IMPLEMENTED · EDITION 0.4

Play a journey through time

Bob’s first journey plays through six sourced stops, with pause, pace, previous/next and reduced-motion controls. A schematic route shows the supported endpoints; nearby-in-time events stay within your filters. Static stepping works without autoplay.

IMPLEMENTED · PUBLIC EDITION

A portable public edition

The atlas is available at floriswolswijk.com/bobiverse/. The same static build supports local browsing and the public website, including attribution, source notes and chapter spoiler controls. Books, audio, transcripts and private notes are excluded.

Implemented items are available in this edition. Held items remain proposals. Machine-transcribed audio still needs independent listening checks.
