Founders at Work
In brief
Brief draft notes on startup lessons: creating value, adapting to users, perseverance, and finding a good co-founder. The entry collects a few ideas worth carrying forward rather than offering a full review.
Early notes on Founders at Work:
- Start-ups create value. Start with a sprint, then slow down as little as possible.
- Do not merely look productive through suits or business meetings; be productive. The founders were often unsure they were onto something big.
- Perseverance and determination come first, followed by adaptability and attention to what users want.
- Have a good co-founder. Write a business plan, but do not expect users to change their behaviour too much.
- Learn what makes you valuable. Saving on a component can also save complexity; some of the best things came from having little money and little prior experience.
